Home Theater Rants
Technology is an integral part of any techie's life, and that technology doesn't necessarily have to be computers. For me, my second hobby is new forms of electronic entertainment, specifically the home theater. I credit my wife for starting this all with her first HDTV purchase (made before we were even married). That purchase set off the chain of events that had me feverishly scouring every website I could find to learn more about i's and p's and PQs and cables.
To call myself an A/V nerd would be a bit of a stretch, however. As you will no doubt discover, I always try to temper my enthusiasm for a new gadget with a healthy dose of pragmatism. You won't see me going into debt for the latest whiz-bang system and a hundred "essential" movie discs. Nonetheless, I do believe that everyone, A/V nerd or layman, should do their research before stepping into a store or going to Amazon.com. Hopefully these articles can help you along that path.
