Introduction:
I ran across this distro at a Chi Sigma Chi LAN party my first year in college. It fit on a business card CDR at the time and looked just strange enough for me to try it out.
Install:
This distro is what I like to call "Linux with Training Wheels that you can't take off EVER." It has a nice, graphical and easy to understand installer that will have long-time windoze users feeling very comfortable. In fact, it's so user friendly that while it's installing the packages for you, it fires up a GAME OF SOLITAIRE (I'm not kidding, try it yourself). Very little detail is needed to get the installer configured, just give it your username, computer name, and click install.
Package Selection:
Let's get to the long and short of it: you can't choose anything about the packages you want to install. While newbie Linux users may find this comforting, anyone who knows what BASH is isn't going to like the rigidity of the installs. It does use the RPM system for installing packages, love it or hate it. You can forget being able to compile your own packages as this distro doesn't install the GNU compiler by default; you need the extra 180MB "DevTools" CD for that. Aside from that, all the packages it does come with work pretty well. It's default desktop is KDE, and no, of course you can't change that. (Are we beginning to see a pattern here?)
Most Annoying Feature:
Having a Linux distribution that looks so much like Windoze grates at a seasoned Linux user, not to mention the fact that you simply CAN'T tweak it the way you want it or do anything more than an everyday Joe User would do.
Who's it best for?
All in all, this is a pretty, stable and overall idiot-proof distro that is good for people who want as close as you can get Linux to look and act like Windoze. However, don't plan on keeping it on your HD long as when you begin to learn anything at all about how to use Linux, you're going to want to get a more flexible distro.
